So, here’s our first blog. It has been such an amazing journey- making this movie. To see ideas jump from our bizarre brains to a wild script and then to the screen is an amazing feeling. I’ve always considered the Spaced Out universe as a place where all bad ideas go when they die. Even bad ideas can be entertaining!  I’ve frequently have had to take a step back and just smile when I see the actors and crew treating each other like family. We have all grown very close over the last year and a half, and definitely have something special besides a kick ass movie!

Still working out the kinks but otherwise we are still pushing forward. Thank you for all the complements and comments about the new website. I really owe a big thanks to Du'vall Gibson for all his help in developing this site and teaching me how to keep it up. The site that is- keeping the site up... anyhow... I'm still learning and trying to develop the site so it's always has some fresh images and up to date news about our ambitious project.

This week has been devoted to editing our movie- we edited about an hour and fifteen minutes complete, however have about 15 to 20 to go. That's just live action scenes- not counting the special effects. And it does not count all the sound work that needs to done.
We are all very excited to see Sam, our co-creator, co-writer, co-producer, will be moving back into town and helping us polish the turd- as it were. If you polish the turd enough ya get a movie that's the SHIT!!

Check out the props page this week featuring Todd Hotis. He's done more for this movie than anyone will probably know. Thanks again for all the overwhelming support!!

So much has happened since our last blog. We were able to recover very important footage that we shot in the Dunes and learned (for those of you who are part the microbudget, gorilla, indie- film maker family) that if you are planning on shooting in HDv... don't! If you need me to tell you why please  just email me. Over an hour and half of our movie is complete and my goal is to have a live action RAW CUT complete. Meaning that it'll be the whole movie minus the special effects shots we are still working on.

SAM IS BACK!! Our Co-writer, Co-producer, Co-creator Co...  And is very happy to roll up his sleeves and take lead on shooting special effects. Models are being detailed and a stage is being put together for shooting. We did a photo shoot this Sunday and had a blast doning our costumes and  voguing out for the camera. We have a few new pics up and much more coming!!  Special thanks to our producer Gary's wife Sara for allowing us to invade her home with all sorts of broken toys and equipment.

Check out some SPACED OUT shirts and hoodies at the Shirt Shack at the Olympia Mall. They are very friendly and we love to support local businesses.

Thanks again, for all the support and please email if you have any comments or concerns or complements.

Wow!! I have to apologize for how long it’s been between entries. First of all, it’s not my fault. So, we were cruising in the Heavy Law Zone when we were boarded by Space Pirates and forced into slavery. Not your typical slavery either. We were dream slaves forced into deep comas and these bastards harvested our dreams. Anyhow, we escaped and slit those pirates’ throats. Ever see an arterial bleed in zero gravity… trippy.

Back on course- we’ve decided to bring you all up to speed with production. We’ve been busting out our special effects and sound work (ADR/foley/sfx). Special thanks to: Joe Gizmo who gave us some great songs/ scores and resides in England, Cameron Boahn who’s given us a several fun songs- (He is also a bad ass Space Ninja in our flick) and, of course,  Jamie Nova and Witchburn for their contribution.

We have a new crew member on board- David Goodman. Goodman is giving us some amazing special effects and helping Sam and Dave bring their crazy vision to fruition.

THE BIG QUESTION HAUNTING ALL…. When is this movie gonna be finished??? Great question!! We are doing our VERY BEST to prepare a screening by November in Olympia Washington for all friends and family. Then we will prepare to get this to EVERY FILM FESTIVAL we can enter!!

Spaced Out has arrived!! After three years of blood, sweat and tears (not to mention several other bodily fluids) we have finished.!!!

On May 31st of 2014 we showed a sneak peak in a private showing at the Capital Theater in Olympia. Not only did anyone not get arrested or light the theater on fire, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

SNEAK PREMIERE:

It was a Saturday morning when a humble crowd gathered in front of the Capital Theater on 5th Ave in Olympia Washington. Taped next to the "real" movie posters that are safely encased in glass frames- was Spaced Out: An Intergalactic Crime Saga. The box office opened at 11:30 am and Todd Hotis and his crew were ready to check everyone's tickets and let them in. The doors opened and the smell of fresh popcorn drifted into the warm morning air. The tickets- specially made for the occasion (and 20 different styles) were flashed quickly to gain entrance into the special event.

"Where's the Director with his movie??" The theater staff was asking Todd. Todd whips out his cell and tosses a quick text to David Caulfield. THE GUY RUNNING THIS THING NEEDS YOU HERE NOW!!

David had arranged for transportation to the event- a limo seemed too ostentatous so they would be arriving in a more suitable fashion. At 11:35 a wily looking driver pulls up in a dirty short bus with: the movie, Director, Associate Producer and many of the leads. Some laugh at the entrance but seemed more relieved at the arrival.

After the three producer each take their turns welcoming and thanking everyone, the movie started. Aside from some minor issues with the sound levels the movie played great. The audience cheered, laughed and hung on the edge of their seats. Holy Shit! This is actually a really good movie. And the budget of 8,000.00 seemed like some kind of sweet lie. You could feel the energy in the theater and it was good!

Afterwards they pour into Le Voyer on 4th Ave and regale eachother with what they liked about the movie, and what the future for Spaced Out might be. Now they prepare for indiegogo! They need to raise the money to package their product and get it in front of audiences!!
